The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore celebrated Pakistan Independence Day in a proper way on Friday.
On all UVAS campuses, flag-raising ceremonies, walks, seminars, folk songs, music performances, debates and cake cutting ceremonies are held on the day.
That day began with Quran Khawani and prayed for the martyrs and the progress and prosperity of the country and the university in the university mosque. Later, a flag raising ceremony was held on the city campus. The vice-principal, Dr. Nasim Ahmad, raised the national flag, while faculty and administrative staff were in attendance.
The university also arranged a walk. Dr. Nasim Ahmad, a venture capital professor, led the event, and all faculty and staff participated in the event.
A seminar was subsequently held, and Professor Nasim Ahmad congratulated the university staff and students on celebrating Independence Day. He asked them to work honestly and dedicatedly for the progress of the university and the country.
He also called for compliance with Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s sayings and Allam Iqbal’s vision. He said that we must remember the service of the elderly who sacrificed their lives for the realization of the motherland. He also praised the chairman of the Institute of Microbiology, Dr. Tahir Yaqub and his team for their outstanding contributions to standardized disease diagnosis programs. He also praised UVAS scientists for successfully separating SARS-CoV-2 from sewage, which helped the government to identify coronavirus hotspots for smart targeting.
Pro-Principal Dr. Masood Rabbani said that we should thank Allah Almighty, who gave us a separate home. He said that we must all perform our duties with dedication and honesty in our relevant fields.
