A nine-member delegation from the Iowa Soybean Association visited the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture at the Lahore University of Veterinary and Animal Science (UVAS) Lavie Campus. The delegation included the country representative of the association, Dr. Pam Halmsing, Regional Director of the Asian Subcontinent, Rick Dungey, Communication Manager of the Asian Subcontinent, Darren Kadlec, Director of the Board, Lance Rezac, Director of the Soybean Association, Tim Bardole, President of the Iowa Soybean Association, ISA CEO Jeff Jorgenson Kirk Leeds, ISA senior director Grant Kimberely and information director Aaron Putze.
The delegation visited fish processing and value-added stocks, fish seed breeding stocks, ecological museums, fish farms, and research laboratories. Professor Noor Khangave, Chairman of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Department, introduced the UVAS, Fisheries and Aquaculture Department. Aquaculture, fish processing, value-added, local fish species such as Zhimu, grass carp, silverfish, etc. He also mentioned links with Fort Wayne, Purdue University for research collaboration and student exchange. The delegation showed a strong interest in the breeding and feeding of ornamental fish species and local fish species. Tim Bardole said the Soybean Association can guide farmers in the proper use of different ingredients in the feed preparation process.
