Online Workshops For Postgraduate Begin From Monday

The course workshops for all postgraduate courses of the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) in the spring semester of 2020 will be held online nationwide through the Aaghi Learning Management System (LMS) on Monday (July 13, 2020).

ICT Director Ajmal Farooq said on Friday that these workshops will be targeted at the Bed, Med, MA/MSc and BS programs taught in the open and distance learning (ODL) mode. He informed that in the first batch of these online seminars, students of the B.Ed course will participate.

The university has sent usernames and passwords to the first batch of students via mobile text messages, while the process of sending passwords and usernames to other graduate students is still in progress. He added that the university has hired qualified teachers across the country to teach different courses of these courses.

In detailing AIOU’s preparations for educational activities after Covid-19, the director informed the university that it has recently improved its load balancing capabilities and Internet connectivity. He said that 30,000 students participate in six different time slots of these workshops every day, and each time slot will take 90 minutes. He further informed that these workshops will continue until October.

The Inamullah Sheikh Regional Services Director has recommended that students of the postgraduate course for the spring 2020 semester contact their respective regional offices without receiving the username and password used to log in to these mandatory online course workshops. The e-mail addresses of all regional offices of the university have been given on the university website. He informed that the student’s attendance will be automatically managed through the system.
