AIOU To Improve Central Library VC

Professor Zia Ul Qayyum of Almaty Iqbal Open University (AIOU) said on Tuesday that Almaty Ikra Open University (AIOU) will improve the conditions of its central library for the convenience of students.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the two-day book exhibition held by AIOU at its main campus yesterday, he said that universities are recognized through libraries.

In his speech, he thanked the management staff of the Central Library, especially the librarians for arranging abundant literary and academic resources.

He also announced that he will make the necessary arrangements to provide the library with the largest funding to provide the most advanced facilities.

He directed that a comprehensive policy must be formulated as soon as possible to further develop the university under an international model.

He added that a well-equipped library is not only important for students, but also for academia and researchers to build new knowledge.

During the book fair, 21 popular book sales companies and 4 publishers displayed their books, which can be sold at a discount.

Librarian Shah Farukh informed that the basic purpose of organizing a book fair is to promote the love of learning and the habit of reading books among students.

He also added that students, academia and researchers should fully participate and take advantage of this opportunity.

At that time, a large number of faculty, staff and students had a keen interest in books.
